Is the fire that Moses (peace be upon him) saw, which is mentioned in the exegesis as being the light of the Lord of the Worlds, the light of God and His attribute that subsists in Him, or is the essence of God exalted above being touched by anything from His creation?

The exegetes believe that the fire Moses (peace be upon him) saw was light. Moses thought it was fire, but in reality, it was light. Some of the early Muslims attributed it as "the Light of Allah." This light is not among the attributes of Allah’s essence, but rather it is the light of His veil (subhanahu wa ta'ala), as stated in the noble Hadith that His veil is light or fire, and were He to lift it, the splendors of His Face would incinerate everything His sight reached of His creation. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said that this pure fire is called both fire and light, like the light of a lamp, unlike the dark fire of Hell.
