What is the ruling on delaying a decision regarding the obligation of covering the face and hands, given the limited time available for research? Is it permissible to adopt the easier opinion or to postpone wearing the niqab? And how can the corruption of the times be assessed when adopting the opinion of the Malikis or Hanafis?

There is a strong difference of opinion among jurists regarding the ruling on covering the face, and what is most probable in our view is its obligation. If you are a student of knowledge, act according to what you find most probable. Otherwise, act according to the opinion of someone whose piety and knowledge you trust. It is permissible to adopt the view of those who permit uncovering the face out of necessity or to avoid hardship, or for a valid consideration, not merely seeking a concession or out of desire. The phrase "corruption of the times" refers to the increase in immorality. Hanafi and Maliki scholars have issued fatwas obligating the covering of the face when there is fear of fitna (temptation) by her or upon her. "Fitna by her" means the woman is exceptionally beautiful, and "fitna upon her" refers to the corruption of the times. The jurists of the four madhhabs have agreed on the obligation of covering a woman's face when there is fear of fitna and corruption of the times. It is more proper and religiously scrupulous for a Muslim to adopt the more cautious approach for their religion.
