Is it advisable to return to one's home country for a lower salary and inability to save, for the sake of being close to family? And is parental satisfaction gained through proximity and capability better than attaining it from afar?

You are better able to balance your religious and worldly interests to determine which of the two is more beneficial for you. If you are an expatriate, far from your family and children, then it is more appropriate to return to raise and care for them, as the interest of nurturing young children is more important than what money can provide. Filial piety to parents is also more achievable when nearby than when far away, even though one who is distant can still show piety through money and the like. The matter is relative and differs from person to person. Therefore, you should carefully consider the interests and prioritize what benefits your religion. Then, seek guidance from Allah (istikharah) and consult your parents and those with sound judgment.
