If a wronged neighbor forgives someone who wronged him ten years ago and had supplicated against the wrongdoer, would the harm that befell the wrongdoer due to that supplication be lifted, and must the wrongdoer seek forgiveness from the wife in addition to the husband?
You must hasten to sincere repentance to Allah Almighty for the harm you have inflicted upon your neighbor. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "By Allah, he does not believe! By Allah, he does not believe! By Allah, he does not believe!" It was said, "Who, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "He whose neighbor is not safe from his mischief." In a narration by Muslim: "He will not enter Paradise whose neighbor is not safe from his mischief." You must seek forgiveness from those you have wronged (the father and his wife) and ask them for pardon, because the injustice was inflicted upon them. It is sufficient, Allah willing, if the husband takes responsibility for his wife and appeases her concerning you. You must also frequently supplicate to Allah Almighty for yourself and for your neighbor, so that Allah may remove this harm from you, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Beware of the supplication of the oppressed, for there is no barrier between it and Allah."
