Is it permissible to continue working in TV repair for a temporary period to collect money for a halal project, knowing that most uses of the TV in the region are for religious and regular channels, and not for pornography?

It is permissible to repair televisions, video players, and satellite dishes, but it is not permissible to repair them for someone known or thought to be using them for unlawful purposes. This is because such an act constitutes aiding in sin and aggression, which the Holy Qur'an forbids in His saying, the Almighty: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression." The Sunnah also indicates the prohibition of any act that leads to sin. If there is a necessity for this profession, it is permissible to practice aspects of it that are predominantly thought not to be used for unlawful purposes, keeping in mind that unlawful acts are not limited to indecencies but include everything that contravenes Islamic law or wastes time. It is preferable to avoid this profession and choose another that is free from doubt, in accordance with the hadith: "Leave that which makes you doubt for that which does not make you doubt," and the hadith: "Whoever guards himself against doubtful matters has indeed protected his religion and his honor."
