Is it possible to link recurring events such as illness or equipment malfunction to the evil eye (Ayn) or envy (Hasad) after media appearances? And is relying solely on invocations (Adhkar) and Ruqyah sufficient for protection? Or do these tribulations signify the necessity of changing one's goals? And would ceasing to strive at that point be considered a shortcoming and surrender?

It has been established that the evil eye is real and has an effect, but one should not rush to consider it the sole cause of afflictions. Afflictions may merely be a test from Allah, or a result of sins that require repentance and seeking forgiveness. If one fears the evil eye, the cure is through Ruqyah (definition) Shar'iyah (Islamic exorcism), persistent acts of obedience, remembrance of Allah (dhikr), reading the Quran, and avoiding sins. One should not abandon pursuing their interests out of fear of the evil eye; rather, they must continue to rely on Allah. It is permissible to conceal some blessings to guard against the evil eye.
