Is there a sin in excessive listening to Islamic anthems (anasheed), especially after quitting music?

Singing accompanied by musical instruments or containing words of love that incite lust is forbidden. As for Islamic anthems (Anasheed) that are free from musical instruments and voices that stir temptation, and that include wisdom and admonitions, there is no harm in listening to them, provided it is not done excessively. The Permanent Committee has issued a fatwa permitting them as an alternative to forbidden songs, on condition that they are not taken as a constant daily practice but only when needed or on occasions, and that this is without musical instruments like the drum. It is better to occupy oneself with reciting the Quran and prophetic remembrances (Adhkar), due to the great reward and tranquility of heart found therein. Excessive listening to anthems might burden the reading and listening of the Quran, so it is advisable to minimize them and suffice with them on occasions so that time is not wasted and good deeds are not missed.
