What is the way to deal with a father who forbids his daughter from performing night prayers and reciting the Quran in a harsh manner, while he does not care about his other daughter who does not pray?

A righteous child is a means by which their parents benefit in this world and the hereafter. The righteousness of the child and their prayers for their parents raise their ranks and expiate their sins.

If Allah loves a people, He tests them. Trials distinguish the patient, raise their ranks, and expiate their misdeeds.

A parent's mistreatment does not nullify the child's obligation to honor and be kind to them. It is not permissible for a parent to prevent their child from acts of worship, such as night prayers and Quran recitation, without a legitimate Sharia-compliant reason; there is no obedience to them in that regard.

The child should not harm their parent in any way, and should pray for their guidance and righteousness, and strive to advise them.
