What is the ruling on the prayer of one who suffers from excessive flatulence and cannot differentiate between its emission and its absence? Must he repeat the ablution and the prayer, or does he complete his prayer despite its emission, by analogy with urinary incontinence? And what about the past prayers that he performed in that manner; must he repeat them, and when?

If your feeling of passing wind is merely a doubt, do not pay attention to it, and pray. Do not repeat ablution and prayer unless you are absolutely certain that something has exited. If you are certain that wind has exited and its emission is continuous, then your ruling is that of one afflicted with perpetual discharge ( سلس ): you perform ablution for each prayer after its time has begun, and you pray the obligatory prayer and whatever supererogatory prayers you wish with this ablution until that time expires. Your prayer is valid and you are not required to repeat it.
