Is it obligatory to shave the pubic hair despite severe sensitivity when shaving it for the first time?

Shaving the pubic hair is not obligatory; rather, it is one of the Sunnah practices of the Fitra (natural disposition). It should not be left for more than forty days. Shaving the pubic hair is not required unless leaving it leads to an impairment of purification, such as an accumulation on the hair that prevents water from reaching the hair or skin during an obligatory ritual bath (ghusl).
