Is supplicating to be the richest man in the world in order to serve Islam and Muslims considered an transgression in supplication that necessitates desisting from it, especially given the existence of diseases and poverty whose cure or removal the human mind cannot comprehend?
It is permissible to supplicate with anything that is possible, legally and rationally, and there is no harm in it unless it involves a sin, breaking family ties, or violating cosmic laws. Among the transgressions in supplication is asking for what Allah does not do, such as asking for immortality or for the removal of human necessities. It is not a transgression to ask for wealth or healing from chronic diseases, for Allah is capable of all things, and He has made a cure for every ailment. Supplication is the essence of worship, and Allah answers the supplicant in three ways: by expediting the request, by saving it for the Afterlife, or by averting an equivalent evil.
