Is it permissible for a mother to say to her son, "May Allah be pleased with you ( عليك )" or "May Allah be pleased with you ( عنك ), by analogy with the saying, "May Allah be pleased with him (رضي الله عنه)" when referring to a Companion of the Prophet?

The more eloquent phrasing in supplication is "radiya Allahu anhu" (may Allah be pleased with him/her), as it aligns with the Quranic and Prophetic style. Examples include His Almighty's saying: "Allah was pleased with them, and they with Him," and the angel's saying to the blind man: "Allah has been pleased with you." Nevertheless, there is no objection to saying "radiya Allahu alayka" (may Allah be pleased upon you), as prepositions may substitute for each other, and there are precedents for this in classical Arabic usage, even if the first style remains the more eloquent and preferable.
