Is it forbidden to hold the penis with the right hand when urinating? Does the prohibition of it lead to it being unlawful? And is the one who does it, while knowing of the prohibition, punished?

Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on holding the penis with the right hand when urinating. The majority of them interpreted the prohibition mentioned in this regard as a matter of dislike (makruh), while some interpreted it as a matter of prohibition (haram).

According to the view of the majority, there is no sin upon the one who does it, but it is a disliked act, and avoiding it is better. As for the view that it is forbidden, the one who does it deserves a warning if he was aware of the prohibition.

It is better for a Muslim to be cautious in matters of their religion and to avoid what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade, whether it is disliked or forbidden. Being lenient with disliked acts may lead to falling into forbidden acts.
