Is it permissible to take drugs and then pray while conscious and aware?

The prohibition of alcohol and drugs was gradual in Islam. After being permissible in the beginning, verses were revealed prohibiting them during prayer, then they were absolutely forbidden at all times. The prayer of one who drinks alcohol is not accepted for forty days, and if he resumes drinking and does not repent, he is threatened with being made to drink from the River of Khabal. The ruling on drugs is the same as the ruling on alcohol in terms of prohibition; a little or a lot of them is forbidden, and it is not permissible for a Muslim to consume any of them.
