How should one supplicate during times of ease so that their supplication may be answered during times of hardship, in accordance with the Prophet's saying: "Whoever wishes that Allah answer him during times of hardship, let him supplicate to Him during times of ease"?

The Hadith in question is: "Whoever wishes that Allah answers him during hardships and distress, let him supplicate much during times of ease." Narrated by At-Tirmidhi and Abu Ya'la, and authenticated by Al-Albani. What is meant by "ease" is a state of health, leisure, and well-being.
