What is the ruling on the prayer of a wife whose husband is angry with her, if the husband is the one at fault, and what is the ideal solution for reconciliation while preserving the wife’s dignity, by analogy with the state of discord between relatives mentioned in the Hadith: "There are three whose prayer does not rise a hand span above their heads: a man who leads people in prayer while they dislike him, a woman who spends the night while her husband is displeased with her, and two brothers who are quarreling"?
A Muslim should adorn himself with good manners in his dealings with people, especially with his relatives and spouse. Through good manners, he gains love and respect and avoids disputes. It has been reported concerning the virtue of good manners that it is the heaviest thing to be placed on the scale, and that its possessor reaches thereby the rank of the one who fasts and prays at night. The most complete in faith among believers are those with the best manners, and good manners lead their possessor to the highest ranks of Paradise. A Muslim should be characterized by gentleness and humility. Humility is obligatory because the arrogant are inhabitants of the Hellfire. In case of disagreements, the remedy is to fulfill rights, abandon animosity, and strive for reconciliation. If the other party does not respond, then the Muslim should seek his reward from Allah.
