What is the ruling on naming a newborn "Yazan," and what names are suggested for a newborn?

There is no legal impediment to naming a child "Yazan" in Islamic law, as it is the name of a valley in Yemen and the name of a clan from Himyar. However, it is preferable to choose names such as Abdullah, Abdul Rahman, and Muhammad, or the names of the Companions, or names that carry praiseworthy meanings.
