What is the ruling on naming a newborn "Al-Waleed"? And has there been any prohibition reported regarding that?

Naming a newborn "Al-Walid" is permissible in Islamic law. The word "al-walid" refers to a boy at the time of his birth, and it is mentioned in the Holy Quran in the verse: "Did we not raise you among us as a child (walīd)?"

As for the narrations that prohibit naming with this name, all of them are weak and not authentically transmitted from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Imam Al-Bukhari pointed out their weakness and chose the permissibility of naming with it. He mentioned a hadith in which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed for "Al-Walid ibn Al-Walid" and did not change his name, which indicates the permissibility of naming with it.
