What is the correct form of a wedding banquet, and what is the legitimate Islamic ruling on a bride wearing a white dress with a wide cape and no makeup at the wedding ceremony, with no songs present?

The wedding feast (walima) is a recommended Sunnah according to the majority of scholars, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying to Abdul Rahman ibn Awf: "Hold a walima, even if with a single sheep." It is preferable for it to be held after consummation, but there is flexibility for it to be held anytime from the marriage contract until the end of the wedding days.

There is no specific prescribed form for the walima in Islamic law, and meat is not a requirement. The matter is broad and follows custom, based on what is available.

There is no objection to wearing a white dress at the wedding celebration, provided that Islamic guidelines are observed, such as not displaying adornment before non-mahram men and avoiding mixing between men and women. Obedience to customs that contradict Islamic law is not permissible.
