Is the monotheistic belief in Allah sufficient for entering Paradise and not abiding eternally in Hellfire without belief in the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), or while abandoning prayer out of denial or arrogance? Is belief in the heart alone sufficient without the limbs? Are the Yazidis destined to abide eternally in Hellfire if they die upon their disbelief? Can Abu Lahab become a Muslim? What is the interpretation of the story of Satan who invites to disbelief and then says, "Indeed, I fear Allah, Lord of the worlds"? Is Iblis's eternal abiding in Hellfire solely due to his disbelief and his call to polytheism? Is it advisable to seek answers to such questions?

Whoever does not bear witness to the prophethood of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), or belies him, or denies any essential tenet of the religion, is a disbeliever (kafir) with a major disbelief that expels him from the fold of Islam. The mere utterance of "Lā ilāha illallāh (There is no god but Allah)" does not benefit such a person. The hypocrites utter it, yet they will be in the lowest depths of the Hellfire. As for the Yazidis, whoever among them dies upon their beliefs is a disbeliever (kafir) who will abide eternally in Hellfire. The disbelief of Abu Lahab is definitive, and a Surah was revealed threatening him with Hellfire, which represents a clear miracle and a proof of prophethood. The statement of Satan, "Indeed, I fear Allah," is mentioned in Surat Al-Hashr, and it is a disavowal from him of those whom he misguided after they disbelieved. The reason for Iblis's eternal abode in Hellfire is his disbelief due to arrogance and haughtiness, in addition to his inviting people to polytheism.
