Are actions such as prostration, praising Allah, and supplicating after every prayer; interrupting activities for prostration; kissing the Mus'haf and prolonging prostration; prostrating upon hearing news of illness; obliging the mention of glorifying phrases after the Name of Allah; and performing the prostration of forgetfulness after every supererogatory or obligatory prayer considered correct or incorrect?

For a deed to be righteous, it must conform to the Sharia of Allah and be done sincerely for His sake. Consequently, the prostration performed by the questioner as an act of gratitude to Allah is not prescribed; rather, it is an innovation (bid'ah). This is not the prostration of gratitude (sujud al-shukr) that is mentioned in the Sunnah, as sujud al-shukr is performed upon the renewal of blessings or the warding off of afflictions, not for continuous blessings. What the questioner is doing is a type of satanic whisper (waswasah) that corrupts his prayer.
