What is the ruling on hanging the name of Allah or His Messenger, or a picture of the Kaaba, on the walls of a house?

"Hanging Quranic verses, the beautiful names of Allah, or pictures of the Kaaba on walls is an innovated act with no basis in Islamic law. The enumeration of Allah’s beautiful names is done by memorizing them, understanding their meanings, believing in them, and acting upon their implications, not by hanging them. Jurists have disliked writing the Quran and Allah’s names on things that are spread out or on walls, fearing their degradation. It was not known for the Prophet (peace be upon him) nor his companions to hang Quranic verses, hadiths, or the names of Allah for adornment or seeking blessings. The Quran was not revealed for that purpose, but rather for guidance and worship. Furthermore, pictures of the Kaaba often include images of animate beings, which prevents their hanging. Hanging these items may lead to their being taken as charms and amulets, and exposes the Quran to degradation."
