What is the ruling on a man adorning himself by grooming his beard with the intention of letting it grow out later, and is adornment considered part of the Sunnah that brings a servant closer to Allah, or is it among the matters that should not be focused on?

There is no harm in beautifying oneself and wearing adornments, for it is a legitimate and beloved matter to Allah. Allah the Almighty says: (O Children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you garments to cover your nakedness and as adornment). And "adornment" (ريش) here refers to clothing for beauty and embellishment. The Prophet (peace be upon him) clarified that beauty is not arrogance, saying: (Indeed, Allah is beautiful and loves beauty). And that arrogance is disdaining the truth and despising people. A person should appear in a good manner without intending arrogance, but rather as an acknowledgment of Allah's blessing and a display of what Allah has bestowed upon him, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to a man he saw in worn-out clothes: (Let the trace of that [blessing] be seen upon you). It is desirable for a man to beautify himself for his wife just as he likes her to beautify herself for him, and this includes growing the beard, as it is the beauty and adornment of men. One must prioritize the rectification of the heart, for if it is rectified, its effect will appear on the limbs through obedience.
