Does residing at a place of work or study count as an absolute residency that concludes the rulings of travel, and what are the implications thereof regarding the rulings of one's original homeland, according to the madhhab of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah?

According to Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, a traveler is permitted to shorten prayers at his workplace as long as he is considered a traveler, even if he stays for months, because he believes that specifying a duration of stay that terminates the travel status has no basis. However, Ibn Taymiyyah would issue fatwas urging caution and completing the prayer if one intended to stay for more than four days, but permitting shortening the prayer if one intended to stay for four days or less. The ruling of travel status ceases upon returning to one's homeland.
