What is the درجه (degree/grade) of the hadith: "Woe to him to whom fingers are pointed, even if in goodness," and what is the story of Alqamah with his mother at his deathbed?

The aforementioned Hadith, with the exact wording, has not been found. However, a similar Hadith in meaning is narrated in Tirmidhi and other collections, stating: "Indeed, for everything there is a period of eagerness, and for every period of eagerness there is a slackening. If its owner is moderate and close to the mark, then have hope for him. But if he is pointed at with fingers, then do not count on him." In another narration: "It is enough evil for a person that he is pointed at with fingers, whether in matters of religion or worldly affairs, except for those whom Allah protects." This Hadith is classified as Sahih (authentic) or Hasan (good).

The meaning of "It is enough evil for a person" is that it is sufficient evil for him that people point at him with their fingers, praising him in his religion or worldly affairs. This is a trial and tribulation for him, except for those whom Allah protects. It is also said: he is pointed at due to an innovation or an evil deed he has introduced.

As for the story of Alqama with his mother, it has not been found under this name. However, a very weak story has been narrated about a young man who was disobedient to his mother and was unable to pronounce the Shahada upon his death due to his disobedience.
