Why does the questioner face a lack of success in many of his life's affairs, and problems befall his possessions after he speaks about them, and defects appear in everything he buys, making him feel ill-fated and marginalized?
We advise seeking Allah's help and supplicating with prayers such as: "O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, by Your mercy I seek assistance; rectify all my affairs for me, and do not entrust me to my soul for the blink of an eye," and "O Allah, there is no ease except in what You make easy, and You make sorrow easy if You wish," and "O Allah, guide me and make me steadfast."
To guard against the evil eye, one should conceal one's appealing qualities and take preventative measures such as morning and evening remembrances (adhkar) and adherence to acts of obedience, as Jacob (peace be upon him) did when he commanded his sons not to enter through one gate, and like blackening the mole on the chin of a beautiful child.
