Did the Companions know about the burial of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, after hearing the sound of the spades on the night of Wednesday?

The hadith reported in the books of siyar (biographies/histories) about Aisha — may Allah be pleased with her — hearing the sound of shovels during the burial of the Prophet ﷺ likely indicates that she was not present at the time of the burial due to the presence of men, or that she was with the women in neighboring houses, or that she did not anticipate the burial until she heard the sounds of the burial tools. A similar incident occurred with Umm Salama and Fatima, may Allah be pleased with them. This hadith is muhtamal li-l-tahsin, meaning it oscillates between being hasan (good) and da'if (weak).
