What is the ruling on combining the voices of several reciters in a single surah when editing videos, such that each of them recites a different verse?

The Holy Qur’an was revealed for contemplation and action according to its teachings, not merely for recitation, as Allah Almighty says: (A Book We have sent down to you, full of blessings, that they may ponder over its verses, and that men of understanding may remember). Ibn al-Qayyim believes that recitation aims at understanding the Qur’an and acting upon it, and that the people of the Qur’an are those who know it and act upon its teachings, even if they have not memorized it by heart. As for the idea of compiling verses with the voices of different reciters, there is no evidence to prohibit it, but it contains caveats, among them: drawing the listener’s attention to the voices, melodies, and comparisons between reciters, which distracts him from contemplating the meanings of the Qur’an, and brings the recitation of the Qur’an close to play or artificiality. Therefore, it is preferable to avoid this and choose a suitable voice or recording, or to have a separate recording for each reciter for a complete surah or the entire Qur’an.
