Should a young man who intended to perform Umrah as an act of repentance—his initial intention being to go first, then he remembered his mother—be perplexed between performing Umrah alone with the money he saved, or giving his mother the money to treat her damaged teeth, knowing that she has enough to go to the dentist, but the many household expenses prevent her from doing so, and knowing that he had a disturbing dream about her teeth?

If you have not performed Umrah before, it is obligatory for you to hasten to perform it, and it is not permissible to prioritize your mother over yourself, because prioritization is not allowed in obligatory matters. However, if you have performed the obligatory Umrah, then the more correct opinion is that it is permissible to prioritize your mother for Umrah if there is a legitimate benefit in doing so, such as giving precedence to people of knowledge and virtue. It is also befitting to spend money on your mother's Umrah expenses if her desire for it is greater, or to provide for her dental treatment if the benefit and ease for her are greater in that; because honoring one's parents is among the greatest righteous deeds.
