Is it true that one who does not perform ghusl on Friday prays Dhuhr instead, even if he is in a state of purity?

Taking a ghusl on Friday is a Sunnah, not an obligation, according to the majority of scholars. It is not connected to the validity of the prayer. Whoever performs it, it is better, and whoever leaves it, there is no sin upon him, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever performs ablution, that is good enough; but whoever takes a ghusl, ghusl is better." And whoever meets the conditions for the obligation of Friday prayer, must attend it.
