Can the 'Umrah that atones for previous sins substitute for the atonement of an oath?

Umrah, Hajj, and other acts of worship do not nullify obligatory duties that are incumbent upon a person; rather, they expiate sins that one has committed. Scholars have differed on the type of sins they expiate. The preponderant opinion is that expiations vary: some expiate minor sins only, while others expiate both minor and major sins. It has been reported that Hajj expiates both types of sins, as well as outstanding obligations, unless the person is able to fulfill them after Hajj. Allah will compensate those who are owed rights on the Day of Resurrection, and this is what Qadi Iyad, Al-Ziyadi, and others have explicitly stated. Umrah is not like that; expiations and all obligatory rights are not nullified by Umrah.
