What is the authenticity of the hadith: "If she were to lick what is in his belly, she would not have fulfilled his right"? And did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say this to a woman? What is the meaning of the hadith? And what is the ruling consequent upon the woman based on it?

There are narrations, which most scholars have deemed weak, that convey this meaning. Among them: "It is not fitting for a human to prostrate to a human. If it were fitting for a human to prostrate to a human, I would have commanded the woman to prostrate to her husband due to the enormity of his right over her. By the One in whose hand is my soul, if he had an ulcer from his foot to the top of his head, overflowing with pus and blood, and she then licked it, she would not have fulfilled his right." And among them is what came in a woman's question to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about the husband's right over his wife, to which he replied: "If his nostrils flowed with blood and pus, and she licked it with her tongue, she would not have fulfilled his right. If it were befitting for a human to prostrate to a human, I would have commanded the woman to prostrate to her husband when he enters upon her, due to what Allah has favored him with over her." The intent of the hadith is to magnify the husband's right and to emphasize obedience to him in what is good, and it does not mean the permissibility of licking pus and blood.
