How can the two noble verses be reconciled: "in a Day the measure whereof is fifty thousand years" in Surat Al-Ma'arij, and "in a Day the measure whereof is a thousand years of what you recount" in Surat As-Sajdah?

The verses mentioned regarding the measure of a day with Allah are of two types: The first speaks of the Day of Judgment, stating that its measure is fifty thousand years, as in Surat Al-Ma'arij. The second type speaks of Allah's days, in which He creates and manages affairs, and that a day therein is equivalent to one thousand years of our earthly days, as in Surat Al-Hajj and Surat As-Sajdah. Consequently, the days mentioned in the verses are different, and there is no contradiction between them.
