Masturbation is forbidden and its prohibition is intensified in Ramadan. It invalidates the fast and necessitates making up the day. One must repent from it and make up the day, unless the questioner was unaware of the prohibition of masturbation or that it invalidates the fast, in which case, according to the preponderant opinion, they are not required to make up the day.
