What is the ruling on the ritual purity of one from whose testicle semen was surgically or by needle extracted for the purpose of fertilating the wife's egg, and what is the ruling on his prayer before performing ghusl if ghusl is obligatory upon him?

Extracting semen in this manner does not necessitate ghusl (definition), because it exited from an unaccustomed outlet. Its exit from an unaccustomed outlet is not given consideration by the Hanbalis. This is also apparent from the words of the Shafi'i jurists, as they do not consider the exit of an impurity from an unaccustomed outlet to invalidate ablution or necessitate ghusl if the accustomed outlet is not blocked. In addition, the exit of semen through an operation means it exited without desire, and its exit without desire does not necessitate ghusl according to the majority of scholars.
