How can a sick person who is unable to stand perform a complete ablution (wudu') and ghusl?

He who experiences a continuous impurity, such as involuntary urination, must guard against impurity as much as possible, and perform ablution (wudu) and pray for each prayer. If the impurity occasionally ceases, he should seek the time of cessation to pray, as long as the prayer time has not expired. If he fears that it will expire, he should perform ablution and pray, even if something is discharged from him. Whoever is able to perform ablution or ritual bath (ghusl) by himself must do so. If he is unable but can hire someone to perform ablution or ritual bath for him, it is obligatory. If he is unable to find someone to perform ablution or ritual bath for him, he must perform tayammum (dry ablution). If he is unable to perform it himself, he should hire someone to perform tayammum for him. If he is unable to do all of the above, he should pray according to his condition. There is no excuse for a sane, adult Muslim to abandon prayer. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Pray standing; if you are unable, then sitting; if you are unable, then on your side." We warn the questioner against neglecting the matter of prayer, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The covenant between us and them is prayer; whoever abandons it has disbelieved."
