What is the ruling on renewing one's ablution when the prayer is about to begin, given that some of its cycles have already been missed?

Renewing ablution for every prayer is a virtue, as it has been narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to perform ablution for every prayer.

However, renewing ablution should not distract the Muslim from catching the opening takbir with the Imam, for catching the opening takbir with the Imam is greater than renewing ablution, and this might be a trick from Satan.
