What is the ruling on congregational prayer in the mosque for someone who is bothered by the smells or behaviors of other worshippers, or the crying of children, or the imam's prolonged recitation, or who feels the gaze of others, or hears voices in his head commenting on the mistakes of the worshippers and the imam, and is it permissible for him to leave an imam who prolongs the prayer?

Satan strives to turn people away from righteousness and closeness to Allah, so a Muslim must struggle against his own self. The plot of Satan is weak, and one should seek refuge in Allah from him. Maintain prayer in the mosque, as it is a cause for entering Paradise, and some scholars have even gone to the extent of saying it is obligatory. In the noble prophetic hadith, a blind man was commanded to answer the call to prayer, and whoever hears the call but does not come, there is no prayer for him except for an excuse. Seek reward for any hardship or difficulty you encounter on the path of prayer, and strive for devotion (khushu') to find its sweetness that makes you forget everything around you. There is no sin in searching for an Imam who does not prolong the prayer, or a mosque where you feel comfortable, and it is necessary to alert the Imam or the person in charge of anything that harms the worshippers or preoccupies their minds.
