Does the frequent practice of masturbation lead to ritual impurity (najāsa) and prevent one from performing the prayer?

Masturbation is among the most severe prohibitions, and it is obligatory for its perpetrator to hasten to repent to Allah Almighty. This involves immediately ceasing the sin, regretting what has passed, and resolving never to return to it. The sin of masturbation increases if it causes one to delay prayer beyond its time, or to abandon it entirely; for prayer is the pillar of the religion, and abandoning it is an act of disbelief that expels one from the faith.
