What should a recently converted Muslim girl do if her Christian parents object to her marriage to a Muslim young man?

If the family opposes a Muslim woman's marriage to a Muslim man because they wish for her to marry a non-Muslim, then their obedience is not obligatory. She is permitted to marry him while attempting to convince them that her religion does not allow marriage to a non-Muslim. However, if the opposition is due to reasons related to his behavior or conduct, it is preferable to seek another husband whom everyone approves of, based on the Almighty's saying: (And accompany them in the world with kindness) [Luqman: 15], which includes gentleness and consultation. If it is impossible to agree on a Muslim person, then the decision is hers alone, as a non-Muslim has no guardianship over a Muslim woman. The marriage contract must be officiated by a Muslim man from her relatives; if none is available, then the director of the Islamic center or the Imam of the mosque.
