What is the religious ruling concerning a man who sees nothing but bad in his wife, denies her good deeds, and falsely accuses her of things she did not do, which has led her to fulfill his marital rights merely as a pretense?
This man contravenes what Allah has commanded husbands regarding kind treatment of their wives. A husband should look at his wife's virtues and overlook her flaws, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No believing man should hate a believing woman; if he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another." What is worse is that he accuses her of things she did not do and divulges her secrets. The wife has done well by not withholding his marital right. As for feigning contentment and love while harboring inner dislike, there is no blame for it. Both spouses should strive for everything that strengthens affection between them to achieve family stability.
