What is the ruling regarding a husband who neglects his wife and makes fun of her in front of his family, claiming he does not intend it, even though he is religiously committed, leads people in prayer, and calls the Adhan?

Spouses must live together in kindness. It is not permissible for the husband to ridicule his wife, especially if she is hurt by it. He must cease this behavior and treat her well, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Treat women kindly," and "The best of you is the best to his family, and I am the best to my family." The wife should overlook such slips, especially if the husband is righteous and religious. The marital relationship must be based on love, mercy, understanding, overlooking shortcomings, considering circumstances, and focusing on the good aspects.
