What is the ruling on naming a newborn, male or female, with the name (Ana) in Islam?

It appears there is no Sharia prohibition against naming someone with this name. However, it is preferable not to use it, because whoever names their child with this name has not named them well. The scholars have explicitly stated that one of the rights of a child upon their parent is to choose a good name for them. Moreover, this name is ambiguous, and its use will lead to confusion in many situations. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, disliked a person saying "I" when asked "Who are you?", due to the ambiguity it entails, and because no benefit or addition is gained from such a statement. Rather, one should state their name.
