Is the husband sinful for preventing his wife from conceiving and delaying it for more than a year, knowing that the wife fears missing the opportunity to conceive or having a health problem, and the husband gave her the choice between Hajj and conception?

Children are a blessing, and the pursuit of them is a right for both spouses. The husband does not have the right to prevent his wife from having them or to delay it without her consent.

Our advice to the husband is to fear Allah, and to the wife is to supplicate and to involve people of influence to persuade her husband.

Hajj may not prevent pregnancy; if it does, the condition of "istita'ah" (ability/affordability) is negated. Hajj is not obligatory if someone else offers their money for it.

A husband preventing his wife from having children without her consent makes him sinful and oppressive. Delaying procreation temporarily for a valid reason is not sinful.
