What is the ruling regarding a Niqabi or Khimar-wearing woman removing her khimar or niqab if she is over forty years old but has a youthful face? The preponderant view is that it is obligatory for a woman to cover her face and hands in front of non-mahram men. However, an elderly woman is permitted to uncover her face and hands if she is not desired by men. The paternal uncle and maternal uncle are close relatives with whom maintaining ties is obligatory, and they must be obeyed in what is good. They do not have the right to discipline their nephew or niece. As for merely raising one's voice at them in a respectful manner, there is no harm in that.
