- Must a girl reject a husband in order to complete her studies?

A woman should not refuse marriage in order to complete her studies. Rather, she should marry if a suitor whose religiosity and character she approves of comes to her, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If there comes to you one whose religiosity and character you approve of, then marry him. If you do not do so, there will be tribulation on earth and great corruption." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded young people to marry and encouraged them to do so when they are able, saying: "O young people, whoever among you can afford to marry, let him marry, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and guarding one's chastity. And whoever is not able to, then he should fast, for it will be a shield for him." Marriage does not contradict studying; rather, it protects a woman, lowers her gaze, and makes her psychologically and intellectually stable, which qualifies her to strive in her studies and combine academic achievement with building a family.
