Is it permissible for a father to prevent his daughter from speaking with her husband over the phone after the marriage contract (aqd al-qiran), and should the daughter comply with that on the grounds of obeying her father, or is it permissible for her to disobey him?

A woman who has had her marriage contract (aqd) solemnized but has not yet been consummated or moved to her husband's home remains under her father's guardianship. She must obey him in matters that are righteous (ma'ruf). Obedience is obligatory in matters that benefit both parents and do not harm the child. If the father has no valid reason (gharad sahih) for preventing his daughter from speaking to her husband on the phone, she is not obligated to obey him, and she may speak to her husband without his knowledge. However, if the father has a valid reason for preventing her, then she is obligated to obey him. The husband should expedite the consummation of the marriage (zafaf), and the father should not prevent his daughter from speaking to her husband unless there is a valid concern about harm (mafsadah).
