What is the ruling on feeling happy when noticing an admiring gaze from men, and is this considered hypocrisy or insincerity in repentance? And what is the true feeling that one should have towards such a gaze?

What the sister mentioned about feeling happy because a man looked at her with admiration is from the whispers of the soul (hadith al-nafs) that Allah, the Most High, has forgiven for the Ummah of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. This is based on his saying, peace and blessings be upon him: "Indeed, Allah has forgiven my Ummah for what they whisper to themselves, as long as they do not act upon it or speak of it" (Narrated by Muslim).

A person is not blamed for such a feeling as long as they do not dwell on it and their soul does not become content with it. Rather, they must hasten to repel it as soon as it occurs. A person must hasten to repel such feelings and thoughts so that they do not lead him to fall into what follows, for the scholars say: Fight the passing thought before it becomes an idea, and fight the idea before it becomes an action, and fight the action before it becomes a habit and behavior.

The sister must also avoid places where men are present and mixing with them as much as possible, except out of necessity and need.
