What is the ruling regarding the admiration and love of males that arises due to perversion, if a person repels it to the best of his ability, and these are simple feelings that do not reach the level of infatuation?

A person is not held accountable for mere thoughts unless they act upon them or speak them aloud, based on the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): "Indeed, Allah has overlooked for my Ummah what their souls whisper or think, as long as they do not act upon it or speak of it." To treat these whispers (waswas), the following is recommended:

1. Occupy oneself, one's time, and one's effort with a beneficial program that includes beneficial knowledge, productive work, and wholesome recreation. 2. Increase in the remembrance of Allah whenever abnormal thoughts occur. 3. Frequently supplicate and ask Allah for chastity, such as: "O Allah, purify my heart and fortify my private parts," and "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my hearing, and from the evil of my sight, and from the evil of my tongue, and from the evil of my heart, and from the evil of my semen." 4. Lower the gaze from women and beardless youths, and hasten to marry if it is possible; otherwise, increase in voluntary fasting.
