What is the ruling regarding a wife who does not obey her husband except through screaming, stubbornness, and physical abuse?

The spouses must cohabit with kindness, and the wife must obey her husband in what is right and speak softly. If the wife misbehaves, the husband should admonish her, then abandon her in bed, and then strike her a non-injurious blow if admonition and abandonment do not work. Injurious beating is not permissible, and if it occurs, she has the right to divorce and retribution. Wisdom should be exercised, and gentleness and strictness should be applied in their proper places, taking into account the nature of women as described by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Affection requires patience, overlooking mistakes, and focusing on the good aspects. If the means of reconciliation are not effective, divorce is the last resort.
